After three seasons at Island Bay United’s clubrooms, Brooklyn Northern United has found a new home for the 2016 season. Last month our clubs met and discussed options for the season, deciding that it would be better for both clubs if BNU found a new home. BNU is moving down the road to Island Bay Tennis and Squash Club for the season, hoping that both clubs find the new arrangement beneficial and can keep it up longer term.
Anna Aitchison, co-chair of BNU said the membership was grateful to Island Bay for putting them up for the last three seasons. “Thank you guys for all that you’ve done for us - we’ve got heaps of great memories at the IBU clubrooms and we thank everyone at IBU for your hospitality over the years. It’s time for us to get our own place, especially as it’s our centenary year. We wish you guys good luck for the future and look forward to seeing you on the pitch.”
Nick Goodall, Island Bay President said, “From our perspective, we've enjoyed having you guys around to prop up the bar and keep Chemo and the crew company! Plus, it's helped stir a bit of local rivalry which is great. We look forward to the battle continuing on the field. Congrats and best of luck in your new digs.”
