The joy of winning ‘slides’ away…

URGH…! Not a lot more to say about this game – apparently we didn’t do toooooo much wrong (except let five goals in the back of the net I suppose!).

Safe to say that we went from Hero to Zero in the space of a week… It was only 2-0 at half time and at this stage, we thought we were still in with a chance, but another three goals from Wainui in the second half soon put an end to that dream…

Ardent followers will be glad to know that Anita’s nemesis (aka Little Miss Slide Tackle) was back on the pitch along with her trademark orange streak on dark brown hair, and fluorescent pink arm cast. Her contribution to the game wasn’t that pretty either, with at least one goal (or was it a cross???) coming off her boot… ☹

What else to say? Pockets of excellence just didn’t come together and at the end of the day, Wainui are a good side and I have it on good authority they have been winning some pre-season friendly matches. Maybe we’ll do better at the re-match once we have a few more games under our belt…???

“You win some, you lose some” and it’ll be a clean slate next week… ☺
