The dawn of a season beckoned on the Masters team with a discovery that we had been promoted to the A division. With despair amongst the team, a letter of protest was sent off to Capital Football asking why the team that finished second was promoted and the team that finished first for the last two seasons was remaining in Division B. As with Capital Football, the letter was not even acknowledged. Anyway onto Saturday with a game against Seatoun who finished mid-table last year. We had a ref who was also our sub until Sandy turned up but that was better than Seatoun who only had 10 men until the second half. We played reasonable football, passing the ball wide and creating opportunities but it remained 0-0 at half-time. With our mascot (Tosh) on the sidelines causing havoc for both teams, we eventually scored through Marty Gray and a second from Sandy to finish with a well-deserved 2-0 score line. On the plus side was the opportunities created but we did let our selves down with missed chances. Overall, the team played well and this result will make it very hard to go back down to Masters Division B. Urwin Lala Add your comment |
