| Stop Out v BNU Pretenders 1 May 2011 |
|
4-1
I mentioned in the last match report that we need to work on our second half, and we certainly did in this game. We won the second half, but unfortunately conceded 4 goals in the first.
The Stop Out team were dropped off at the game by their Mums and preceded to run around doing a fancy warm up. They may have been young and fit but we (being a 30+ team) are scientifically proven to be at the peak of our endurance! We put our superior endurance to good use in the second half (laugh). Note some of their players did have to come off with cramp while we kept charging.
Our whole team played pretty well, except for a soft spot towards the end of the first half. Naomi did some great work down the wing. Celia also had a cracker of a game charging out of the back line to punt the ball well up field. Liz, as usual, did some great work in midfield. Toni also saved some awesome goals. One was an awesome shot just under the bar, but Toni managed to leap up and punch it over the back of the goal.
The last 10 seconds of the game were the best though. Jess was pretty fired up and got past 3 of their players to land a great shot in the net. Anyway, we celebrated like we had won the game and the other team went off to their Mums for a hug. Jo Garland |
