Hello Everyone,
As some of you may be aware, the Committee has done a lot of work over the off-season to get things organised for your first games on 5 April.
As the club’s new Chairperson I am hope the initiatives we started last year will make it a good season for BNU.
I am particularly optimistic after strong performances by First and Reserve teams in the Hilton-Petone tournament.. BNU used the tournament as season preparation and, while they did not make the play-offs, were a tough team to beat. I am confident new coach Frank Klement will be able to see them back in Champs Premier by the end of 2009.
In other news, BNU is pleased to announce its Women’s Team will be included in the new Women’s Premier division, which replaces the old division one in 2008. The new division will see Women's teams playing 18 matches across the season and the Kelly Cup as the only Cup games across the season. It will be good to see our Women's team back in the top division again.
At a club level, the Committee is working to promote the social aspects of the Club after feedback from members. We will be holding team speeches every Saturday and are busy organising four club events during the year. We ask each team is represented at all of these. If you can help out with organising any of these please email me on
